Most of the restaurants in Hospet are located around the busy, main Hospet bus station.

Hospet is a busy regional centre located about 30 minutes away from Hampi. It is the main transport hub for people on their way to Hampi. As a result few people choose to stay here; however we stayed here for two days and tracked down and enjoyed some good, authentic South Indian and Hyderbadi cuisine.

Most of the restaurants in Hospet are located around the busy, main Hospet bus station. Commuters in between buses and trains stop here for a snack or a meal on the way to their next destination. As a result, the restaurants here are geared up for hoards of people visiting their restaurants for affordable, satisfying and good quality meals.

Located in the South Indian state of Karnataka, a large number of Hospet restaurants cater to South Indian meals including South Indian thalis and snacks. South Indian cuisine is largely vegetarian in nature with lots of dishes made from fermented rice such as the popular Masala dosa and Idlis. Many dishes can be had for breakfast, lunch or dinner as they are both light and filling. It is also common to find South Indian snacks being prepared at road-side stalls.

Most hotels in Hospet also have an in-house restaurant whose menu largely consists of vegetarian multi-cuisine options including North and South Indian cuisines as well as Chinese dishes which are popular all over India. These restaurants are a great option as one can order over the phone, get room service and dine in the comfort of your hotel room.
