Hampi’s climate is generally warm and dry. The best time to visit Hampi is between September and February.

 

  • Winters (November to February) are very pleasant and cool. During winter the day temperature is less than 34°C and the night temperature can go to a low of 12°C. This is the best time for Hampi tourism. Sightseeing and outdoor activities are particularly enjoyable during the winter months.
  • Summers (March to May) offer a warm climate with temperatures reaching a maximum of 40°C.
  • Monsoons (June to August) brings wet weather with heavy showers. It is not advisable to visit Hampi during the hot or wet season.

It is worth scheduling a visit to Hampi during one of their fairs or festivals that are held on a grand scale as the city is the most colourful and liveliest at this time. Be prepared for throngs of tourists, both local and foreigners, during this time.

Hampi festival (November), Purandaradasa Aradhana (January/February), Shivaratri (February/March) and Deepavali (October) are some of the festivals attracting many tourist to Hampi.
