Best Time to Visit Ajmer

Ajmer has a hot semi-arid climate with high temperatures for most part of the year. The best time to visit Ajmer is between the months of October and March when the weather is nice and pleasant and the sun is not scorching hot during the day.

 

  • Winters (November to March) are chilly with the minimum temperature touching nearly 5°C. This is the best time to visit Ajmer as the weather is mild and temperate with average temperatures ranging from 15–18°C.
  • Summers (April to July) are hot with the maximum temperature soaring beyond 40°C, while the minimum is nearly 28°C. The weather is very hot and sunstroke is common. Tourists typically avoid the months of May and June.
  • Monsoons (August to October) offer medium to heavy rainfall with an average contribution of about 55 cm.

 

Being a Muslim pilgrimage centre, the city becomes overcrowded with pilgrims during the holy periods of Ramadan, Id and Muharram as well as during the anniversary of the Sufi saint, Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti’s death – The Urs. During these periods, it is difficult to get around the city and its sites.
