Jodhpur 1-Day Itinerary (Our Recommended Travel Time)
If you only have 1 day in Jodhpur, we have a great solution below which allows you to see the main attractions.

Start your day with a visit to Mehrangarh Fort. If you’re an early riser and would like to see more of this magnificent fort enter through the Western entrance. The walk starts in the old town and involves a lot of steps going uphill to the main entrance. During your walk through the Fort you will see how it was built with its excellent multiwall defenses.
There is a good detailed audio guide for the Fort or you could hire a local guide at the Fort.
Lunch can be found inside the Fort or in the old town nearby.

After visiting the Fort, head down the hill towards town to see the other popular attraction in the area – Jaswant Thada. You can walk from the Fort if you’re feeling energetic or catch a tuk-tuk. This Moghul monument to the Maharanas of Marwar is a good example of tomb building and is worth the visit. You will get great views of Jodhpur as you walk along the hill, especially from near the statue on the hill in front of Jaswant Thada.
We recommend dinner at one of the rooftop restaurants in town. The best views of Mehrangarh Fort can be had from the rooftops of these restaurants.

If you have time and are only doing a 1-day trip to Jodhpur, consider taking a self-guided walking tour around the centre of town. Alternatively, try your hand at bargaining while shopping at the main market in town.
