Story Bridge Adventure Climb

[singlepic id=5717 w=720 h=560 float=center]

The Story Bridge Adventure Climb is a spectacular way to discover Brisbane. It gives bridge climbers 2.5 hours of exhilarating (or terrifying) views over Brisbane and beyond, to the Glass House Mountains in the north and Gold Coast hinterland to the south, from the upper reaches of the city’s premier bridge.

Throughout the two-and-a-half-hour experience, the climb leader reveals the history of the bridge and talks about the city’s transition from a 19th-century penal settlement to a 21st-century metropolis. The climb peaks at a viewing platform on top of the bridge, 44m (143 ft.) above the roadway and 80m (262 ft.) above the Brisbane River. This is only the third “bridge climb” in the world (after Sydney’s and Auckland’s), so make the most of the chance. At the summit, you’ll be rewarded with magnificent 360-degree views of Brisbane, its river, and Moreton Bay and its islands.

Climbs take place several times a day as well as at night. The tour starts from the base headquarters at 170 Main St. (at Wharf St.), Kangaroo Point.

If you are over 12 years old and at least 130 centimeters (just over 4 ft., 3 in.) tall, you can climb Story Bridge. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

See Story Bridge Adventure Climb for more details.
