Best Time to Visit Jaisalmer

The city of Jaisalmer experiences extreme arid climatic conditions with very hot and dry summer and cold winters. The best time to visit Jaisalmer is between October and March so as to avoid the heat from the scorching sun.

 

  • Winter (November to February) is marked by cold and dry weather with a maximum temperature of 24°C. This is the best time to visit Jaisalmer as tourists can indulge in sightseeing as well as outdoor activities in comfort.
  • Summer (March to August) is extremely hot and uncomfortable with temperatures ranging between 25°C and 42°C. Tourists are advised to avoid these months as the heat dominates the region and sunstroke is common.
  • Monsoon (September to October) is not very well defined in Jaisalmer as there may be several days with or without rainfall. Rainfall is confined to 15 cms annually and is of low to medium intensity. However, the humidity level increases making these months unsuitable for visiting Jaisalmer.
