The easiest and most affordable way to travel around West Bengal is on the train system that connects the various destinations very well. Alternatively, buses depart for the hill stations of Darjeeling and Kalimpong regularly from northern Kolkata. If you’re planning on visiting the Sunderbans, consider taking a two- or three-day package tour with a reputable agency with pick-up and drop-off in Kolkata.
