Kerala weather is hot and humid all year round. The best time to visit Kerala is during the winter months of October to March when the weather is mild and pleasant. These months are usually the peak season for Kerala tourism.

  • Winters (October to February) are mid and pleasant. In winter, the temperature drops a bit but the weather is pleasant and comfortable. The weather at this time is pleasant enough to enjoy yourself at the beach. This is also a good time to see some of the more interesting and colourful festivals in Kerala.
  • Summers (March to May) are hot and humid. This is an ideal time to visit the hill stations of Thekkady and Munnar. The heat will probably keep you off the beaches and you may find yourself engaged in peaceful siestas during the afternoons.
  • Monsoons (June to September) involve heavy rains and strong winds. Most areas in Kerala are wet and slippery making them inaccessible. Monsoon season is also supposed to be the best time for Ayurvedic treatments.
