Mt Hotham Ski School for Adults

Mt Hotham has one of the best ski and snowboard schools in Australia with their instructors coming from some of the biggest and best resorts from around the world. They share their expert knowledge and teach you some new tricks to make you a master of the ski slopes.

 

Beginner Lessons

If you’re new to the snow, consider taking a beginner lesson at Mt Hotham. Their dedicated Learn to Ski and Snowboard program is designed to meet the needs of beginner-level riders. Coaches will look after you every step of the way and help you learn this fantastic sport. Lesson and Lift passes are included.

 

Group Lessons

If you already know how to ski or snowboard you might be interested in developing your skills further or boosting your confidence on the snow with a group lesson. During a group lesson, you will be taken by the instructors on green and blue slopes practicing stopping, turning, working toward parallel skiing and linking turns on the snowboard. Two hour lessons are available in the mornings and afternoons every day during peak season.

 

Private Lessons

If you would like some one-on-one time with the instructor, consider taking a private lesson whether you’re a beginner, intermediate or advanced rider. Alternatively, make a group with up to five family members or friends of similar ability and get the ultimate learning experience.

 

Ski Masterclass

If you’re an advanced rider and would like to master the mountain and reach your peak potential on the snow, take a ski masterclass with Mt Hotham’s elite ski coaches. You’ll master the powder, steeps, deeps, moguls, trees and refine your carving style on the groomers. Daily morning and afternoon sessions are available during peak season.

 

Snowboard Masterclass

If you’re an advanced snowboard rider, crank up your riding style at a snowboard masterclasss guided by Hotham’s most experienced snowboard coaches. Find out some of the locals’ favourite riding spots around the mountain; get into the parks, out onto the steeps, find natural features in and around the trees and shred like a local. Daily morning and afternoons sessions are available during peak season.

 

 

Mt Hotham for Kids

The Kids Snowzone at the Big D is a winter wonderland for kids of all ages, from first turns to getting to the next level. Below are ski schools and entertainment options for kids of different age group.

 

Daycare (Ages 3 months – 5 years)

From an introduction to skiing for your tiny tots (from the age of 2 years) along with professional half day and full day supervision, the Hotham Daycare Centre at the Big D has it covered.

 

Mighty Mites – Skiing (Ages 3-5 years)

Kids can explore the world of snow all while making friends and learning to ski in a fun environment. The program encourages kids and helps to build their self-confidence on snow, creating a positive skiing experience. Classes are divided by ability.

 

Burton Riglet Snowboard Program (Ages 3-6 years)

This program is aimed at getting kids out on snowboards and having fun. The Burton Riglet park uses natural features to aid young riders to develop balance on their snowboard and progress towards entering the Kids Klub program.

 

Kids Klub – Skiing and Snowboarding (Ages 7-14 years)

Experienced professionals will share their passion for skiing and snowboarding, and kids will enjoy learning new skills and perfecting existing skills all while making new friends. This program is for ski and snowboard and classes are divided by ability.

 

Private Lessons (Kids of any age)

Give your kids a lesson tailored to suit their needs, with one-on-one tuition from one of the Snowsport professionals. Private lessons are available for even the smallest child.

 

Harry the Snowdragon

Mt Hotham’s friendly blue dragon is the mascot of the Kids Snowzone. Join Harry the Snowdragon every Wednesday and Saturday from 4pm to 4:30pm for a singing and dancing stage show with lots of family fun and games.
