Albany Restaurants

Although a coastal town, the menus at the Albany restaurants are made up of a range of International cuisines. While seafood is always popular at the restaurants in Albany, expect to find anything from Italian and French to fish and chips and pies.

Perhaps the best restaurant in town is Lavendar Cottage which specialises in traditional country French cooking. Open for lunch from Monday to Friday and dinner on Fridays only, this fine-dining restaurant is worth making a booking and driving into town on a Friday evening.

If you’re after a more café-style of dining, consider Vancouver 51 perched above the coast with balcony views and creative fusion food. The two-course dinner is very appealing. Squid Shack is another interesting café – literally a shack on the beach. Order a plate of fish and chips and make a picnic on the beach. Dylan’s on the Terrace has a nice 1950s old-world charm about it; the hamburgers are nice too. If you’re after vegetarian food, you can’t go past Harvest Moon Café, while Nonna’s does classic Italian dishes. Head to Earl of Spencer Historic Inn for good, hearty pub meals.
